Lazy Fat P.I.!

Lazy Fat is a fat dog detective who is...fat and lazy. I want to do more with this character in the future. I love drawing funny animals and I am a big fan of the detective genre in general. More to come!

Monsters!

I just read Prison Pit volume 4 by Johnny Ryan, and it was great! I was inspired to draw these Prison Pit bootleg type monsters. Pick up Prison Pit if you haven't read any of it.

Black Cat

I had this idea for a Black Cat for hire, who rents out his bad luck giving talents to the highest bidder. Perhaps a comic is in order?!

Pizza Pappy

I wanted to draw a grandfatherly figure, and gave him a pizza head for good measure. I also had an idea for a short comic before bed...and drew it up in pen on a piece of Staples computer paper...enjoy!

Doodles

I like drawing little tiny people in pen, and just recently found a new pen that I think has a really good flow and line, so I tried to draw a variety of different types of cartoon people in varying shapes and sizes.
I then tried my hand at drawing a bunch of cartoon characters from memory, first row is X-Men, second row Dragonball, third row a bunch of randoms. Enjoy!

Philadelphia Cartoonist Society Book 3

I am lucky enough to be a part of the Philadelphia Cartoonist Society, a great group of Philly based cartoonists and artists. Even luckier, I was able to participate in the third anthology of comics and art by current PCS members, for which I contributed a short comic. I've decided to put the pages up here...

A big Thank You to Christian Patchell and Jeffro Kilpatrick for putting the book together. 20 artists are featured and it is a great looking book. If you would like to pick one up, head to Patch's website! $7.00 is not too shabby for this guy!

A Nation of Evil Men 2

Recently at Tattooed Mom's, a bar on South Street in Philadelphia, the Phantom Hand crew had another show after the gallery's closing in August this year. The goal of the show was to depict figures in history who the Artist feels are...well, evil. I had a tough time coming up with anyone this year...initially I was going to depict Kim Jong Un, mostly as I think he was fun to draw...

But I had a hard time making an actual illustration featuring the guy. A lot of other ideas floated through my head, then for some reason while on the internet I remembered a t-shirt I saw on a news article being worn by a plainclothes police officer, that said "We Wake Up Early...To Beat The Crowds"...that brought to mind a lot of over the top imagery that I decided to put on the page...

This has a bit of a Marshall Law by Pat Mills and Kevin O'Neill thing going.

I colored 'em all in and made a little montage here....probably should have depicted a scene  with pepper spray in there...maybe later.

All Colored in!

The show was a fun time with lots of interesting pieces. I was thinking of adding some temporary tattoos of these guys at some point.

Hot Dog Arts

I did these a few months ago for a show at Hot Diggity, a delicious hot dog restaurant in Philadelphia. They revolve around my obsession with detective fiction and silly fast food mascots. I tried coloring in the line art again in Photoshop and I think I dig how this coloring method works. You can see these two at Hot Diggity, along with a lot of other great artwork, and stay to try delicious hot dogs, fries and home made sodas, if you're in Philly.
